Prepositions of Time


Some of the following sentences use the wrong time preposition or wrong in some way. Correct them.
  1. What are you going to do on the weekend?
  2. Did you go home the last Christmas?
  3. What did we study in class the last day?
  4. They got married on July 7th.
  5. Are you going away in Easter?
  6. I don't have to get up so early on Saturday mornings.
  7. We usually have our holiday on August.
  8. She was born in the 1960s.
  9. We go skiing in the winter.
  10. I have a meeting at 10 tomorrow morning.
  11. I don't go to the gym in Tuesdays.
  12. I came back to Madrid at New Year's Eve.
  13. The Second World War started in 1939.
  14. She is leaving the day after tomorrow.
  15. Shall we meet again on the next Thursday?

Here are the correct sentences:

1.What are you going to do AT THE WEEKEND?
2.Did you go home LAST CHRISTMAS?
3.What did we study in class THE OTHER DAY?
4.They got married on July 7th.
5.Are you going away AT Easter?
6.I don't have to get up so early on Saturday mornings.
7.We usually have our holiday IN August.
8.She was born in the 1960s.
9.We go skiing in the winter.
10.I have a meeting at 10 tomorrow morning.
11.I don't go to the gym ON Tuesdays.
12.I came back to Madrid ON New Year's Eve.
13.The Second World War started in 1939.
14.She is leaving the day after tomorrow.
15.Shall we meet again NEXT Thursday?

So in the original exercise, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 14 were correct.
