Catchy ads

Many adverts have catchy tunes to grab your attention and help you remember the brand.

Can you think of other ads that have a catchy tune?

The new ad for Nocilla has become the most annoying one on TV because of the inclusion of Bisbal.

Which celebrity annoys you? Why?

Which advert annoys you? Why?

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

Chorus

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall
As soon as he marries her then she starts
To do the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife
you'll be happy for the rest of your life
An ugly woman cooks meals on time
And she'll always give you peace of mind

Chorus

Sax solo

Don't let your friends say you have no taste
Go ahead and marry anyway
Though her face is ugly, her eyes don't match
Take it from me, she's a better catch

Chorus

Spoken:
Say man!
Hey baby!
I saw your wife the other day!
Yeah?
Yeah, an' she's ug-leeee!
Yeah, she's ugly, but she sure can cook, baby!
Yeah, alright!

Chorus

Here is an old ad for an Australian lager. The English is difficult to understand.

- So there’s going to be a few of you out shearing this time then?

- About 40, I’d reckon.

- Something for the ladies?

- Oh yeah. Two bottles of sweet sherry mate.

- Looks like we’ve overdone it with the sherry.

- Yeah.

Normally, all ads of Coca-Cola have a catchy tune and they are well done. There are many adverts that I annoy but now I remember the “Axe” ones. They are horrible.
Bisbal is a quite boring singer but the lyrics of the English ads should be forbidden. I’m sure that sing was very famous when it was published

See you tomorrow!

You are right that the lyrics aren't politically correct nowadays but the song is just harmless fun.

I can understand why they chose Bisbal to appear in this ad. The product targets his fans, who are girls with an average age of eight.

For the rest of us, he is irritating.

I don't understand why they used Raphael to advertise a make of car, unless they are targeting ladies in their seventies.

I'm going to remove the Bisbal ad from the blog. Just the sight of him gets on my nerves. LOL
