Grammar Review - Int 1

Find and correct the mistakes in the following groups of sentences. In each group there are two which are grammatically correct.

A.
  1. When did you last watch a film in English?

  3. I've been to London to learn English when I was a teenager.

  2. I'd like ask you about the homework. There are a few things which I'm not sure about.
  3. A: What time are you leaving tomorrow?  B: around 6am   A: I'll get up to make you breakfast.
  4.  I'm really looking forward to go away this weekend.
  5. Did you remember to post the letter when you were out?
  6. Do you know which month JFK was assassinated? Was it on November?

Is this José Luis (FCE)- art historian that I see on Mondays or is it José Luis (Int) that I see in school on Tuesdays?

Ok José. I've waited long enough for my Int students (a class of 10) to have a go at this revision exercise.

So here are the answers just for you.

A. (3/6)

1. When did you last watch a film in English? RIGHT = When was the last time that you watched a film in English?

2. Which team PLAYS football in La Bernabeu? (Subject question)

3. I WENT TO London to learn English when I was a teenager. (past simple with specified time)

4. Our homes are unlikely to be very different in twenty years time.RIGHT (Future tense)

5. I don't know what I WILL DO for my birthday this year. (indirect statement)

6. By the time I finished writing the report, all my colleagues HAD GONE home. (past perfect before past simple)


B. (4/6)

1. I WAS DOING my shopping at the market when I met an ex-classmate. (past simple interupts past continuous)

2. I MIGHT NOT come to work tomorrow. I don't feel very well.
