2.
A: I recommend you to see his latest film. WRONG

A: I regret not to accept the first job offer. WRONG
B: Do you regret saying that you would go? RIGHT
C: She began to regret that she had not taken her parents' advice. RIGHT

Ok, the ones in bold are where you made a mistake. If the sentence is WRONG, then try to correct it.

In the second exercise, the verb is apologise while the noun is an apology.

See you tomorrow!

Hi Graham! It's Cristina

I've just done this exercise and I've seen your correction. Obviously, I had a lot of mistakes, but I've understood the reason.

Threfore, my question is a bit silly: what's the difference between explication and explanation? I've seen both in your answer

Thanks!! :)

Graham said…
Hi Cristina,

Your question isn't silly at all. It's actually quite sensible.

If I were you, I'd forget explication and always use explanation.

To be honest, I had to check if explication exists. As is often the case, I thought the word might be Spanglish.

Explication is apparently very formal and used in scientific contexts.
