It is worth it when something is good enough or has enough advantages that the negative aspects (the effort that you make, the expense etc) are acceptable. You give some sort of value to sth/sb.
- (to a girl after she breaks up with her boyfriend) Don't cry. Forget about him. He isn't worth it.
- It is an expensive restaurant but it's (well) worth it. The food is excellent.
- They paid €30m for the young Brazilian footballer. Let's hope he's worth it.
His latest film is worth seeing. I really enjoyed it.
If something is worth doing or having, it is useful or important to have or do. It's not a waste of time.
- Her idea is worth considering. We have nothing to lose.
- It isn't worth going to the meeting. You won't learn anything that you don't already know.
- It is (well) worth visiting the museum. It has an impressive collection.
Can you recommend things (not) to do? Books worth reading? Places worth visiting? Films worth seeing? etc.
Worth is also used to express how much something costs:
- A: How much is that painting worth? B: It's a masterpiece. It's priceless.
- He bought his house for €200,000 a few years ago. It's worth double that now.
- A: I'll give you $50 for your bike. B: Oh come on! It's worth a lot more than that.
Worthless is an adjective that describes something that you couldn't get any money for:
- It's such an old car that it'd be worthless now.
- It is an antique but it is virtually worthless now because it isn't in perfect condition.
Idiom:
be worth your/its weight in gold: to be extremely useful or valuable
- She's worth her weight in gold. Since she joined the team, sales have increased dramatically.
- This new gadget saves me so much time. It really is worth its weight in gold.

I like this post very much. I agree with you. It´s real life. I think there are a lot of things not be worth and I´m sure that the effort almost always be worth. As was your effort, as will be your prize. I think is necessary to make an effort to improve society and the human species.
Can you think of things that were worth in the end? The culture always is worth. It´s a general knowledge that the culture rewards. It´s the best. The people with culture are happier than the other people and they are less illness than the rest. This is scientific evidence.
I recommend to read too much and to know other people, cultures, thinking, galaxies, etc. My flat is worth more now that when I bought it, but my car is worth less now that I bought it.
Who o what is worth their/its weight in gold? Things are worth don´t weigth, generally, so I can´t say anything that weights, for instance “to share a dream” (¡what affected!). The people don´t have too much money they say that the most important is to dream. LOL
To add to excellent post I remind a Spanish saying: “It´s not bad that by good doesn´t came” (more or less) or another sentence, but I don´t remember its author: “If you cry by lose the sun yours tears will prevent to see the stars”.

I'd just like to add to this excellent post with a Spanish saying that came to mind - No hay mal que por bien no venga “Out of everything bad comes something good" (maybe it's the equivalent of "Every cloud has a silver lining" or another sentence, but I don´t remember its author "Si lloras por no haber visto el sol las lágrimas te impedirán ver las estrellas" “If you cry for not having seen the sun your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars”. I'm not sure what the equivalent English saying would be but I can tell you that it's a quotation from a book by Tagore.

If I think about things that worth it at the end, what comes to my mind are things that you achieve by making a lot of effort, such as getting a good job or finish a degree.
I guess it depends on people's taste, but in my experience what it is worth it at the end is to achieve a lifestyle that makes you happy.
As for things i'd recomend, i'd say The Lion King's musical was worth seeing. Talking about places for visiting, id recomend you the expositions of Telefonica (located in Gran Via). I'm obsessed with them, they are really worth it.
During these last years, and specially after the pandemic period, many things got much more expensive. First of all, i'd say the appartents nowadays are more worth it than some years ago. Also the shopping basket nowadays is more worth it than before.

Looking at some of your examples, I don't think that you've fully understood some uses of worth.
You can talk about how much your house is worth but when it comes to selling it, you don't get the asking price. If you purchase something from a shop, you'd ask how much it costs, not how much it is worth. There is a difference. You might pay a lot of money for something but discover it wasn't worth what you paid.
