Drummers invite Helen Mirren to open gay festival – and shout at them again

The organisers of a gay music festival whose noisy drummers received a royal ticking off from Dame Helen Mirren for disrupting her performance as the Queen have invited her back to shout at them again.

Dame Helen Mirren offered an olive branch to a troupe of noisy drummers who disrupted her performance as the Queen – by taking it upon herself to promote their music festival for them.

Dame Helen stormed out of the Gielgud theatre in London on Saturday dressed as the Queen to remonstrate with a troupe of samba-style musicians who had stopped outside the stage door while she was performing in The Audience, a play about the Queen.

Hi Hilde!

I'm still quite weak after the operation and so it seems I'll be off work for some time yet.

You should read the transcript too. I'm sure you will find some new expressions.

I've listened to the audio about Helen Mirren .It's easy enough. (adj + enough)

See you!

Hi, Graham!!!
Reading a comment I’ve just known that you’ve been operated on. Why? I hope it isn’t anything serious and you get over soon.

I’ve listened the audio and on the one hand it could seem funny to see Dame Helen Mirror showing up at the door of the theatre dressed that way and shouted all those people but, on the other hand I can understand she was so angry .If I had been a member of the public I’d have felt the same as her.

Please, tell me more about your operation.

Hi Montse,

I had appendicitis. I was in hospital for four days and now I'm off work recuperating slowly.

When I'm fit, we can have our coffee morning. :-)

I’ve listened to the audio and on the one hand it ... theatre dressed that way shouting at all those people but, on the other hand I can understand why she was so angry.

Which reminds me - the other weekend when I was ill in bed, my neighbours in the flat above me started dragging furniture, stomping around ... and so after shouting and banging on the ceiling didn't work, I stormed upstairs in a rage.

They have two young children, and they answered the door along with their mother. All she could say was "but they are only children".

This weekend was much quieter. Long may it last.
