Cristina Jaurrieta- I love this quote: Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game. ~Paul Rodriguez.

We have talked so much about this issue, and you know I am not into hunting. I do not understand how people could like to kill animals. When you spend some time with one, you find out that they can feel and show their emotions. Besides, they share them with you. I guess someone who love hunting would say that animals are meant to that, just to be eaten by us, so, where is the problem? The problem I find is that having that as a fun game is so terrible. Hunters don´t do it just to have something to eat but to enjoy. Do animals feel the same? No, they don´t. Not only the don´t know they are in a "game" but they dont like it at all, so they can´t call it "a sport".

Hi Cristina,

It's really hard for me to bite my tongue sometimes. It's impossible for me not to express my opinion when the topic of animal rights comes up in class. I guess we should have skipped these pages haha.

The problem I find is that having that as a fun game is so terrible. Hunters don´t do it just to have something to eat but to enjoy themselves. (enjoy + object / enjoy + reflexive pronoun)

Do animals feel the same? No, they don´t. Not only don't they know that they are in a "game" but they dont like it at all, so they can´t call it "a sport". (not only + auxiliary + subject) See Negative Adverbials.

The less I say on the subject the better. :-)
