My Way - Frank Sinatra
Source: You Tube (Eagle Rock) Key Words: Frank My Way
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived a life that's full.
I've travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, I've had a few;
But *then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I *bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.
I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has nought.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

"Regrets, I've had a few; but then again, too few to mention."
But then again: said when we have a new thought that is different to what we have just said.
Idiom:
- I would love to go to the North of Spain; I've never been there. Then again, it's very cold at this time of year so maybe it's better I go in the summer.
- We could go by bus. Then again, it will be much quicker by plane.
- I'll attend the meeting with the Americans. Then again, my English isn't that great.
I was there for a wedding some years ago in May / June time. I didn't get the impression that it was OVERRUN WITH tourists but THEN AGAIN, I was there for just a weekend.

Can you tell us about a place that you have visited that is SPOILT BY tourism? https://t.co/D96bdDdXMp
bite off more than you can chew
- Don't bite off more than you can chew! I think you have enough work and you shouldn't push yourself so much.
"An entrepreneur tends to bite off a little more than he can chew hoping he’ll quickly learn how to chew it." #motivation #quote

Have another listen to My Way and try to complete the lyrics. Now have a go at completing the words to another Sinatra class - Strangers in the Night.
