Isn't she lovely?

This is Bessie. She literally fell into my life. I noticed her from my flat as I was feeding the pigeons. The only way that she could have got into the garden is from the roof of one of the surrounding buildings - and it's a big drop. She had her hiding place that was impossible for me to reach. It took me ten days before I could catch her. I fed her every day and night, hoping that she would trust me a bit more. I sat in the dark, occasionally with the torch of my mobile phone to see her and talked to her so that she would gain my trust. Eventually, I was successful. I took her to the vet to see if she had a chip so we could discover who her owner was. But she didn't have one. So she has ended up with me. She is only about a year old so she is very playful. She follows me around like a dog and she is very affectionate.
🐾 Bessie in the Garden
She watched me from the ivy’s shade,
Eyes like lanterns, half afraid.
I left her food, and whispered low,
Each night her courage seemed to grow.
A week of stars, a breath, a chance —
Then trust arrived, a trembling dance.
Now every step I take, she’s near,
My black-and-white shadow, soft and clear.
She came from silence, thorns, and dew —
And found a heart to call her new.
🌙 The Cat Who Follows
She doesn’t purr—she hums a tune,
a song of trust beneath the moon.
She pads behind me, step for step,
as if to guard the love she’s kept.
A streak of ink, a patch of snow,
the softest thing I’ll ever know.
No collar, tag, or claim to prove—
just quiet faith and feline love.

🐾 The Bessie Routine
I feed her once, she thinks it’s twice,
she checks the bowl — then checks it thrice.
She joins my walk, inspects each shoe,
and sits on things I need to use.
She’s black and white, but never bland,
a furry queen who takes command.
I own the house — or so I say...
but Bessie runs it, day by day.
😹 My Little Shadow
She’s in the kitchen, on the chair,
I turn around — she’s everywhere.
She follows close, she guards the loo,
(privacy? long gone — adieu!)
She naps upon my laptop keys,
then stares as if to say, “You please.”
She’s loyal, sweet, and quite absurd —
a tiny dog with fewer words.
