I like listening to people's  opinions about Scotland. It's great to hear positive things but it's also important to find out about the things people didn't like.

It's true that many shops close at 6 though supermarkets stay open until 10 in bigger towns. In the summer, souvenir shops are open until late.

I suppose Scotland is more expensive than some other countries but I don't think the difference is that great. Eating out is pricey if you order a bottle of wine. The entrances to all the places that tourists visit can add up

It can be difficult to find accommodation in small towns and villages if you arrive in the evening without having booked a place. There are many tourist offices which help you to find a place to stay all over the country. Many tourists choose to go to a Bed and Breakfast - most of them are pretty decent and affordable.

Getting around Scotland is a problem. There are some wonderful train journeys but it's not the best way to see the country. You really have to rent a car to reach most places.

And it's true - the weather, even in summer, can be awful. You are lucky if you escape the rain. You shouldn't go to Scotland expecting to get a tan

According to the guy in the video, the Scots are the best people in Europe. Who am I to disagree? Seriously, most Scots are welcoming and try to be of help to tourists.

If you are into outdoor sports, Scotland is the ideal place to visit.

The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful.

I consider myself very lucky to call Scotland my home.

When I went to Scotland 20 years ago, my friends and me visited Edinbourgh and Glasgow. We went on July but the weather was cloudy and rainy everyday. As the man said in the video the Scottish people were kinder than in London. Perhaps in London people is often stressful like in Madrid. If you wanted to have something for lunch or dinner it was cheaper than London, but everyday around six o'clock p.m. every shop, museums, etc were closed, except the pubs. One night we had a whisky in a church which transformed in a pub. Silvia.

Hi Silvia,

I didn't know that you had been to Scotland. I hope that you went to the Highlands - it's the heart of the country. If not, you'll have to pay us another visit (and maybe you'll be luckier with the weather - the sun does shine occasionally).

I have never been in Scotland but I would like to go it. In my opinion, the video shows everything that foreigners think about Scotland. Spanish people think the same that it appears on the video and I agree with his about five things he loves. I would like to visit in the future and I could check for myself

Hi José,

For me, it's interesting to hear what impression visitors have of Scotland and the Scottish. Of course, I like hearing positive opinions though I recognise there may be complaints too. It's silly I know but I feel bad if people tell me about something that spoilt their holiday.

And fingers crossed you are lucky with the weather when you go.

Hi Graham, here is my coment about London, i dont know what i did the other day, because i think that i put the comment in the blog last week.
Five things that i hate about live in London:
1. Firstly the weather it’s the worst thing of live in London, is always raining, both Winter and summer and its very difficult to have dinner or lunch in some terrace like in Madrid for example.
2. The second thing that i don´t like of live in London is the price of the transport, in my opinión its very expensive to travel on bus , metro or taxi.
3. The third thing i dont like about London is that there are a lot of spanish people and if you want to learn english its extremly imposible, because all spanish people go there to work or to study english and finally all of us stay together all the time.
4. The last thing i dont like about live in London its the price of the living place, rent a house is very expensive so you have to share an apartment with more people to be more economic.

Five things that i love about live in London:
1. The first thing that i love to live in London is the tourism, i think London is very beautifull and you have a lot of things to see and to do there, you have monuments, a lot of markets of different things etc
2. The second thing is that its very funny to live in London, because there are a lot of plans to do, many pubs, and for examlple you can go party like in Madrid or you can go to parks with your friends with some beers and pass a good time there if the weather allows it.
3. The third thing that i love to live in London is the mixture of the different cultures, there live a lot of indian people, black people etc and its very common, the people is very alternative and everyone dressed like they want, in Madrid for example we dress more formal and more similar between all of us.
4. Other thing that i love to live in London it’s go shopping, there are a lot of shopps, and some of them dont exist in Madrid or spain.

Hi Leticia,

I've lost comments too and been left kicking myself because I didn't save it.

Living in London doesn't really appeal to me though I recognise it is a fascinating city.

Be careful with "it". I noticed similar mistakes in your previous comment. Take a look at:

Hi Graham!

I have seen this video because the man seems very funny to me. He said that he hate five things about Scotland: it`s expensive, many shops close early, public transport is a problem, to find a accommodation and the weather. But there are five things that love: people, castles, beautiful people, whisky and sports.

I haven`t ever been in Scotland, I`d like to go the next summer. I would rent a car for visiting the country. What do you recommend me to visit? And what should I eat?

I think Scotland is a beautiful country, it`s worth visiting.

See you tomorrow

Hi Vanessa,

I find this guy slightly irritating. Americans tend to mention money a lot. Scotland might be a bit more pricey than some other countries but it isn't outrageously expensive.

I'd be delighted to recommend places to visit and things to eat.

I have seen this video because the man seems very funny to me / I find this guy very funny. He said that he hates five things about Scotland: it`s expensive, many shops close early, public transport is a problem, as is finding accommodation(UNC) and the weather. But there are five things that he loves: people, castles, beautiful people (are you sure?), whisky and sports.
