Hi Graham, This is very useful at this time! This year we haven´t had a Christmas dinner, not even "La Cesta de Navidad" that I was expecting.
Some people doesn´t like to go out for dinner in this season but "la cesta" should be given to all employers every year by the company beacause it makes feel the employers happy.

Did you have your "Cesta" or Christmas party?

Cristina.

Cristina,

I never get a Christmas HAMPER from my employees. The school where I work does have a Christmas GET-TOGETHER but I AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Some PEOPLE DON'T LIKE to go out for dinner in this season but "la cesta" should be given to all EMPLOYEES every year by the company beacause it MAKES the EMPLOYEES FEEL happy.

Hi Graham!
I finally chequed up the blog and this post made me laugh.
It's a great truth all the things its said...
Every year in my office, we had the colleague that got drink so much or the one who got dress like in a the end of the year.
Even the typical "social-climber" and their chat with the big boss.
I wish this kind of things would stop the next year... But I'm don't really think it.
See you in class!

Hi Patricia,

Welcome to the blog! I hope this is the first of many posts from you.:-)

I finally CHECKED OUT the blog and this post made me laugh.

ALL THE THINGS THAT IT SAYS ARE COMPLETELY TRUE.

EVERY year in my office, we HAVE the colleague that GETS REALLY DRUNK or the one who DRESSES UP like AT THE END OF THE YEAR (ON NEW YEAR'S EVE)

I wish this kind of things would stop NEXT YEAR... But I DON'T really think SO / BUT I DOUBT IT.

Good to see you practicing STUFF that we have done in class. KEEP IT UP.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Graham!

I found this video so hilarious and useful, all the situations that this video shows can happen when you're in a Christmas party.
It's important to behave properly in every party, but mostly in the ones you atend with your workmates.
I just had one Christmas party, and it was last year. I was so excited to go, but at the same time I felt dread, because by that time I'd been working in the company only for 2 months. In the end the night was really fun, and the most important, it was everything free!
But we didn't follow the instructions that the video shows about punctuality... I arrived 20 minutes late and I was the first who arrived at the restaurant in the whole company!
Anyway, I reckon that this kind of events are fun and necesary in order to socialize with the workmates. Yet, also I can understand that can be something awkard and dreadful to some people, specially if you're new at the company.
This year I wont have a Christmas party because I'll be made redundant next week, but in a way I'm glad for not going.

Hi María,

Have you checked out the other videos in the link I gave in the post? Keep an eye out for links in bold red.

I dreaded staff get-togethers. Mind you, I was usually the last one home whenever I joined my colleagues.

I found this video both hilarious and useful (we don't use so with extreme adjectives like hilarious), all the situations that this video shows can happen when you're at a Christmas party.

It's important to behave properly at every party, but especially the ones you attend with your workmates.

This year I wont have a Christmas party because I'm going to be made redundant / they are going to lay me off next week, but in a way I'm glad that I won't be going.
