What's the weather like in Ireland?


Bright and fresh with sunny spells, but some scattered light showers also. Afternoon temperatures will peak at between 12 and 15 degrees - highest over Munster and south Leinster.


Tonight will be mostly dry with clearing skies in most places, but a few showers are likely along parts of the west and north coasts. A cold night, with some patches of mist and fog forming. Lowest temperatures 3 to 8 degrees - lowest over Ulster with some frost in places.


Tomorrow Monday will start mainly dry and bright with sunny spells and dry apart from the odd shower or two. But rain will develop later in the day along the south and southeast coasts. Milder than today with top temperatures 13 to 16 C., in a freshening southeasterly breeze.


Monday night will be mild, humid and misty with heavy rain spreading northwards overnight and the rain persisting in many southern and eastern areas through much of Tuesday where falls of 25 to 40mm are possible in places with some local flooding. The rain will clear from western and northern areas on Tuesday morning but it will take until late in the day to clear from the east and south. Tuesday night will be dry but cool with light winds and some mist or fog will form inland. Wednesday will be a bright fresh day with variable cloud and sunny spells. Temperatures will reach the mid teens. Then apart from isolated showers, Thursday will also be mostly dry with sunny breaks and light winds.
